Life is a message. Heed it. African Proverb. Today I received a message from God that while we may be separated by water and land, thousands of miles apart, we all hurt the same but in a different cultural context. This became quite clear to me as Terry Aust and I accompanied the chaplain, Reverend Alice on her rounds in the hospital. We were told that we may be asked to greet the patients in the various wards and pray. As we began our journey the first stop was at the bedside of a mother of a young woman who was "not doing well and would probably not last the night.". The chaplain, Terry and I prayed for this woman while the chaplain asked God to welcome her home for she had been suffering final stage of HIV Aids for the past 2 months.
