A Joyful Sunday

Today has been a big day for the team. We worshipped at Kaaga Methodist Church with the Hope Companions Group. This group of young leaders has been working and studying diligently all weekend but took time from their agricultural training schedule to attend worship.

Several of these youth have lost both parents to AIDS. They come into the Hope Companions program stigmatized and hurting. Our hearts are touched by them all. One young man, 16 years old, has lost both parents to HIV, just lost his three younger siblings to measles, and now is the only remaining family member to care for his blind grandmother.

We brought a group of 12 such youth to the Bio-Intensive Training Center on Friday afternoon. Tonight after dinner they were given training certificates. What joy to see their smiles!
