Methodist Healthcare and Maua Methodist Hospital are both linked by their focus on health and well-being and a belief that these are key to their mission,  spiritual growth.

The leadership of Maua Hospital has visited Memphis several times. While being extremely impressed and overwhelmed by the massive hospital network and the plethora of latest technology; this is not something that translates to their setting.   What the have been most enthusiastic about, that does translate to their setting, is the role of the Chaplaincy here in Memphis.  Programs such as the Congregational Health Network, have linked hundreds of   congregations and faith communities to help patients navigate their transitions to and from the hospital and home.

Maua Hospital  is rejoicing and so thankful to The Faith and Health Division of Methodist Healthcare for their willingness to work toward a chaplaincy exchange with Maua Methodist Hospital in Kenya..
The Leadership of Methodist Healthcare LeBonheur has ChosenDan Wilborn to begin the Chaplin exchange program.

We are so excited to have Dan and his wife Joyce be a part of the GUMC Kenya Mission Team.

Not only is Dan is a Chaplain at Methodist Germantown Hospital, for 25 years Dan has been the Senior Pastor and CEO of Golden Leaf Missionary Baptist Church

Dan has a BA in Business administration for University of Memphis, a Masters of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary, and a Doctorate in Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary, with Cum Laude honors.
So Dan is a intellectual person...but he is a preacher who has served his congregation with vision and compassion and the ability to connect to his community and the world .   In all these endeavors his wife of 35 years, Joyce  has been by his side and helping him lead the charge.
