Sunday, July 4 at Kaaga Methodist Church
Our group worshipped today at Kaaga Methodist Church in Meru, Kenya. Founded in 1913, they still worship in the original structure made of stone blocks. They have both an English and a Kimeru service. We enjoyed the English service immensely and felt very welcomed. Following the service all gathered outside for tea, which is a Sunday tradition. However, their tea contains milk and sugar! This afternoon we learned farming techniques and continued work on the water pipes. We enjoyed a traditional Kenyan meal of ugali, kale, beef, vegetable stew, and fresh oranges. The whole team, along with the kids, helped cook and clean up after meals.
